Securityat every step.

Mustard is a registered US money services business. Here is how your money and your identity are protected, from the moment you sign up to the moment your transfer lands.

  1. 01

    Your money is held separately

Customer funds sit in segregated accounts at our partner bank, apart from company money. Your balance is stored value, not a bank account.

  2. 02

    Every transfer is screened first

Senders and recipients are checked against US sanctions lists and anti-money-laundering rules before any money moves. Anything flagged is reviewed by a person, not waved through.

  3. 03

    Limits grow with verification

Every customer verifies their identity. Daily limits start at $500 and rise to $3,000 and then $10,000 as you verify more, which caps what any one account can move.

  4. 04

    Sensitive data is encrypted

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Identity numbers such as your SSN, BVN, or NIN, and the tokens that connect your bank, are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and only decrypted at the moment they are used.

  5. 05

We never see your bank login

You link your bank through Plaid. Your bank username and password go to your bank, not to us, and bank access tokens never reach your phone.

  6. 06

    Your account, locked down

Transfers are confirmed with your PIN. Turn on two-factor authentication, see every device signed in to your account and sign any of them out, and freeze a card in a tap.

  7. 07

A ledger that can't be rewritten

Every movement of money is recorded in a ledger that can't be edited or deleted. Corrections are made with new entries, so your history always adds up.
